Food Train

We provide a range of services, delivered by volunteers, to older people in Scotland including:

Shopping Delivery
A weekly grocery delivery service where volunteers visit to collect a shopping list, make up the order in the local supermarket and deliver the groceries later that week, unpacking and putting away where needed.

Food Train Friends
A befriending service providing trips out, home visits and telephone calls, bringing some fun, laughter, friendship and social contact to older people.

Food Train Extra
The service offers you help and support with practical everyday tasks around the home, those things that have become too difficult for you to do. This may include inside window cleaning, freezer defrosting, cleaning out cupboards, changing bedding / turning mattresses, building flatpack furniture etc.

Meal Makers
Local people cook and share extra portions of their own home cooked food with an older person living nearby who could benefit from warm meals and increased social interaction.
